Hudson Valley Resort & Spa:
Free Fall Foliage and Harvest Tour
It's prime leaf peeping season here in the Hudson Valley, and our gorgeous mountain views and quaint country roads are brilliantly adorned with spectacular hues of gold, burgundy and crimson.
There are so many exciting autumn activities in the beautiful Hudson Valley Catskills region of upstate New York that it can be difficult to plan the perfect leaf-peeping trip, so we’ve put together a special Fall Foliage and Autumn Harvest driving tour to help you make the most of your stay!
Winding along the famous Shawangunk Ridge, our driving tour features majestic mountain vistas, gorgeous fall foliage, quaint country farmer’s markets, apple and pumpkin picking, wineries, and excursions through pristine nature preserves & historic landmarks. Take it at your own pace and enjoy your upstate leaf peeping trip like never before!
We’ve hand selected six of the best roadside scenic viewpoints which afford spectacular views of the fall foliage from high atop the magnificent Shawangunk Ridge. With views of the southern Catskills to the west, rolling farmland to the south, and the beautiful Hudson River Valley to the East, you’ll be amazed at the stunning autumn vistas encountered along our driving tour.
Harvest the bounty of the Valley along the way with stops at three of our favorite pick-your-own farm markets! Offering traditional fun for the whole family, our local producers invite visitors to enjoy corn mazes, hay rides, pumpkin picking, petting zoos, and other favorite fall activities.
Of course, autumn is the perfect time for apple picking in the Hudson Valley, and our Fall Foliage driving tour takes you to a beautiful local orchard where you can pick from a full assortment of fall favorites as well as more exotic varieties. Ever try a Northern Spy? There’s simply no better way to experience the harvest season.
The Hudson Valley is the oldest wine making region in the US, and our tour takes you by some of the area’s finest vineyards. You’ll have an opportunity to visit one of our favorite wineries where you’re invited to sample the fruit of their labor with wine tastings, cellar tours, special events and more- all set against the brilliant backdrop of the Shawangunk Mountains in full Autumn array.
Time to explore? Our driving tour offers two exciting walking excursions to the most scenic and dramatic leaf-peeping areas in the northeast! Sam’s Point Nature Preserve offers visitors access to the highest point of the Shawangunk ridge, where you’ll find sweeping panoramic views of the brilliant autumn hues.
Our second excusion is a stop at Minnewaska State Park. You'll be enchanted with the beautiful walk around Lake Minnewaska, where stark white cliffs stand in stunning contrast to sapphire water reflecting gold and crimson leaves. It’s truly a sight to behold.
For many people, the falling leaves evoke thoughts of days gone by, and our tour will satisfy your nostalgia with an excursion to Huguenot Street. A National Historic Landmark, this is one of the oldest continually inhabited districts in the U.S. and features many original stone houses and historical museums dating back to the mid 17th Century.
